Byong Chol Yu, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center in Westwood, California, at the age of 82.
He was born on January 20, 1944 (December 25, 1943 lunar calendar), in Korea. He pursued higher education at Korea University Law School and later at Yonsei University Graduate School of Public Administration. In 1976, he married the love of his life, Kil Ok Yu (Grace Yu).
In 1979, he immigrated to the United States and built a life of dedication and service. In 1991, he opened Eastland Pharmacy, where he faithfully served his community until his retirement in 2011.
In the final months of his life, he accepted God and found peace and comfort through faith.
Byong Chol Yu is survived by his beloved wife, Grace Yu, and his two sons, Chong (Joseph) Yu and David Yu. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, perseverance, and devotion to his family.
